The first and only time I ran my car at the track I was severely hampered by my Vasoline-brand tires.

I ran a 2.6 60 foot, 9.4 1/8th @ 82.5 mph. Those times suck for that mph. I think I could have got even more mph if I was able to give it full throttle in the first 2 1/2 gears without it spinning.

I need tires.

My first time at the track i ran a 14.27 @98 or 99 mph on my first pass with 275/40/17 dayton Z rated tires. That was my best run until my last run when i ran a 14.26. I tried to keep the rpm's between 2500-2800, and that was with about 135,000 miles on the car

My first track pass ever was a 13.9@100 w/ 2.2 60'
I made two more passes that day spinning more...14.0@100 w/ 2.3 60'

The car has mid 13's in her if i can get a sub 2.0 60'.

My next mod: BFG Drag Radials....maybe some LCA's.

Your trap speed is good enough for a mid 13! The Key is to get your 60ft down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My 97 ran 13.8s all day long with just CAI.(Mine is an A4 though) The more you cut your 60ft down the more your E/T will drop. Suggestion for next time on your street tires put the pressure down to about 22lbs or so. People say this and that about street tires but the best 60ft I've ever pulled off was a 1.717 on my stock 16x8s. And that was on N20. SO if you fiddle around with your launching and your tire pressure, you'll get that mid 13 with what you've got.

hooking up has a LOT to do with how well the track is prepped, more than you might think.

I leave on Kuhmo's at 2000 and slip the clutch out. like someone said ,drive it out of the whole. once you feel the grip nail it and give em hell. My best 60' on street tires was a 1.97. Hell with that 60' you must have a pretty strong car to pull off a 14.0. Just cut a 6 tenths off that 60' and i seriously wouldnt be suprised to see you in mid 13's.Best way to do it is just keep racing it , you will feel it and get use to it. Good luck

The original poster screwed up his post. It should have been a 15.0

Your trap speed seems pretty good for your mods.

Getting traction is tricky at the track, especially with a M6. I had problems too, my one and only time to the track so far.

I had the opposite problem as you. I kept bogging. The track prep was great and I was not used to getting so much traction. My best that day was a 14.4 @ 98. That was with a 2.2 60' time. Completely stock except for CAI. 86 degrees, 80% humidity.

You should easily see mid 13's with your trap speeds.

Dan
