First time @ the track!!!

Man, what a rush. I took my M6 '99 Z28 to the track tonight @ Irwindale drag strip on an 1/8 mile track. It was great fun. I was amazed at how sticky the track was, I got some really bad wheel hop, lousy 60' times, and scratched 2nd and 3rd gears (tranny is going out I have a feeling). I only ran once because I really wasn't too into the idea of walking home!

My first runs at the track were Wednesday. Exactly what I found out. The track is stickier than heck. It least now we know what we're in for the next time. My best 60' was 2.2, which actually felt good. They say that 2.0 is possible with street tires. I guess I can believe it with that sticky launch surface.

Seriously, I need an automatic car. I fear my T56 isn't long for this world.
