Finally got some Track Times w/in

Finally 15 months after I started this project I got some times on the car. I'm pretty happy w/ the results overall considering it was the cars first showing.

Temp: 82 degrees
Wind: Head wind of 20+mph grrr
Alt: bout 1100 feet (my normal track is at 800)
Gas: 93 Octane.. didn't have time to get the good stuff

Times: - giving best time, but all were w/in a tenth

60' 1.732
330 5.014
1/8 7.710
mph 90.18
1/4 12.059
mph 112.30

I think there is definitly 11's in the car for sure on motor. I still hope I can pull down a 11.5 on motor. To do it I probably need to change my Hooker Cat back exhaust to true duals, 4500 Stall convertor, something other than auto zone spark plugs, and new O2s. (O2s have 110k miles on um ) I'm also losing quite a bit w/ 28" tall tires and 3.73 gears. But have the big tires for nitrous runs so.

Also, my cam is supposed to be good up till like 6800rpms or so, but the car doesn't really want to pull past 6500. I'm thinking the 12.5:1 compression is too much for 93 octane at the high rpms, but not sure. I think there may be some room for improvment w/ 1/4 times w/ 100 octane, but not sure...

What do you guys think??

Later,
Jason

Damn Jason.....I think I'm gonna have to race you from a roll. Do you have the trans-brake hooked up yet?? I'm positive you can get far better 60's out of the car than that.

Sorry I didn't call you back about that TPS switch question you had. My cell phone fell out of my pocket at my g/f's house, and I didn't get it back for another day; I called the first number you left me with no answer, then got kinda busy and didn't call back. If you still need help, give me a call again.

Yeah I had the brake hooked up, but my stall convertor isn't stalling more than 3200/3300 and I was still spinning a little bit out of the hole. I had the tire pressure set at 12lbs, and the last run set it at 10lbs. at 10lbs it hooked, but bogged a little. I'm gonna contact Yank and see what I can do about getting a 4500 - 5k stall convertor.

We can race from a roll this weekend if you want I wish I could hook the 400 shot up this year, but don't think I'll have the funds till later in the season. Gonna cost me a min of $450 to do the seperate fuel cell and lines for the nitrous kit.

Later,
Jason

Well, I think my oil leak problem is back in full force. I did a WOT 1st through 4th pull on a back road by my dad's house yesterday (N/A.....I ordered the NX Accessory panel switch I was talking about, but it's on backorder). Damn car filled with smoke; ugh. I'm gonna check the intake manifold front and rear, and the oil pressure sending unit to see what I can come up with. If it keeps pissing me off, I might freaking pull the motor and replace ALL the gaskets. Ugh.

How much have you tuned the car?? I'm sure it could use some quality time on the dyno. I know mine would highly benefit from it, lol.

Seems like your mph is kinda low.....probably just in tuning and working out the small things.

Yeah I think the MPH is low also. I'm hoping it's just little things like tuning and the 20mph head wind. My exhaust really sucks too. Lotsa little things so I'm hoping to gain some.

As far as tuning all I have is a pcmforless tuning. I know I could benifit from a dyno tune, but don't know anywhere local to take it? Joe any ideas?

As far as oil leaks, don't ask me, heck I still think I'm getting a little bit of a leak.. Not really sure where, but hoping to track it down this week.

I was thinking my car should run somewhere around 11.5's@115/116 so I dont think I'm too far off the mark.

Well, I know where to dyno (Dyno Tune Motorsports; where they keep their mobile dyno is only 5 minutes from your place), but as for who to tune it.......errrr, hell if I know. I know a little about tuning, pretty much enough to get me into trouble, but not enough to really tune a car properly.
