Talking Finally did it 11.61@117mph!

We went out to the local drags today and it was over 100 degrees. I drove there on my et streets and we pulled my dad's Impala and here is how it went with my car 12.82@105 hot from the 50 min. drive, cutout closed and leaving easy on the first pass. Then 12.71@106.5mph cutout open leaving a little harder. Last pass on motor was 12.62@107.6mph. I put the bottle in my car and pulled up. I left on motor then sprayed a 150 shot all the way down and here is how the pass went.
60' 1.63 My friend said it pulled the driver front tire off a couple inches.
1/8th 7.42 no mph shown
1/4mi 11.61@117mph I know it is not some ground breaking et's but it is my first pass in the 11's with my Transam so I am stoked about it. I didn't get any more N20 passes b/c I redlighted 1st round of eliminations.
Also my dad's 1967 4400lb Impala ran 9.66@ 141mph today and that is what I will be driving as soon as I get my NHRA License to go that fast. The car also needs a liilte more roll cage to be legal to run that fast but that track isn't too strict b/c I don't have any type of cage and I ran 11's with no problems. I will have pics of both cars at the track later on this week. later Clint

Nice run! But I have to say holy **** on the 4400 lb Imp running 9.66@141!!!!! That's just insane! What does he have motivating that boat? Have any idea how much hp he's making? It must be a whole bunch to push a 4400 lb car into the 9's. Again though, nice run!

Thanks that Impala is one bad mother it has a 512ci BBC with Brodix heads and XXX Procharger for starters. It is intercooled, runs on 93 octane, blowthru carb,4.10 gear with a 30"10.5w slick and has all of the interior including bench seat and coulmn shifter. Thanks Later

Hey are you planning on spraying or just the heads and other stuff? I was wondering what you were doing b/c I hadn't seen your car around the track. I can't wait for some cooler weather and a little more N2o tuning. :ater Clint

Why are the MPH's a little on the low side? Just curious is all. I would imagine a heads/cam car going well over 107 on motor.

I don't know the specifics b/c it came off of a Mustang that Procharger sponsered last year and it was there biggest blower. They called it the double X or XXX. We have a smaller Procharger but it wasn't putting out enough boost so we bought this one and it still only puts out 10#'s. But it's a 512inch with brodix heads you know.
