A Few N00B questions...

at the moment i have incredibly basic mods. Straight piped the cat... exhaust is just a dumped bullet. I cut the lid off my airbox. coolant bypass, 160 stat, pert shampoo mod, lous short stick. That's prolly most of it.

ANyway... my dad won't let me take it to the track till i finish paying for it this spring. I could do it anyway.. cuz I love across town in a dorm, but... i'm gonna wait.

Anyway.. I have some crappy BFG KDWS tires with alot of tread left. They leave somethin to be desired. I can't imagine my 60' times are better than 2.3 but I do not know.

Can anyone estimate what track numbers i may be capable of currently, and then an estimate of what i could do after LTs, 12-bolt, and nittos?

Drew
I may have some more Qs after I get some opinions on this.

I ran 13.3 @ 106 with a setup just like that.

Current setup is probably good for consistent low 14s. Might break the 13s if you get your launch and shifting down and have good conditions.

What gears would you put in the 12-bolt? Swapping in a 12-bolt with the same gears wouldn't make much of a difference in track times, though it'd be tougher.

3.73s or 4.10s. Dont know if 4.10 is wise or not, since stock for an M29 is 3.23.

A lot of T56 guys seem happy with 4.10s. I'd recommend punching some numbers into an RPM calculator and deciding if you're ok with that much revving. Two important speeds are highway speed, and your expected trap speed in the 1/4.

Yeah, "a lot" are happy with that, because MOST T56s (94+) have a 3.42 rear. While my final ratios are almost the same, my rear in my 93 is a 3.23 (M29 T56), and earlier 93s even had a T56 with 2.73 rear (M28). So a change to 3.73s for me would be very comprable to a 4.10 on a 94+ T56.

You want 3.73s. 4.10s would be too much.
