Fastest bolt-on car?

I'm curious to see what the fastest bolt on cars run. More interested in the LT1 than LS1 because i'll just get depressed when i see them. I'd guess there are some high 12's in there.

Re: Fastest bolt-on car?

More like a high 11.......I think that was only done by 1 guy with all the boltons and a pretty lightened car.
Others have made it mid 12's to low 12's with some weight reduction and some good suspension mods. In the future I would like to be mid to low 12's with bolt ons only and I think it is very much possible.

As far as bolt ons Im talking about the following

-Full intake/exhaust
-Headers
-Gears
-Higher stall if auto
-Elec. water pump
-1.6rr's
-tuning
-Drag radials/ full slicks
-lightened car / not gutted, just lightened
-Close to all of the suspension stuff, although if ya hook up then they arent all that necessary
-Underdrive pullies
-air foil
-tb bypass
-bigger throttle body

All that above stuff and you will be super quick and pulling some awesome times, but you may want to add a 12 bolt to the list cause its days will be numbered. But as far as high 12's with boltons, I would say that is fairly common if your car is running right.

I wish I could claim I was one. I am having hooking problems but my mph is pretty good at 112 with just bolt ons on an LT1. With traction, it might be somewhat impressive.

that is very impressive. Although i wouldn't consider 1.6rr's a bolt on.

Re: Fastest bolt-on car?

the 1.6rr issues has been debated over and over, and has been accepted as a bolt on. it was accepted for the GM High Tech Bolt on invitational.
I ran 12.36@109 with a bolt on car and i have a 9" moser rear,might of gone a tad quicker with a 10 bolt.

I was referring to myself BTW, Kawasaki does have an assembly plant in the US, although I don't know if my bike was built here.

Re: Fastest bolt-on car?

do a search ..been talked about time and time again. Record is held by SAR2K...11.96 I beleive at 111.xx. Every bolt on known to man, great air, and a dead hooking car on a great track.

I gotcha slim. I was just doing my normal picking thing, nothing personal.

Yeah, search LT1 Tech for "Fastest bolt on LT1" and you'll find a few threads. Lots of cars running low 12's and Steve's high 11-second screamer. Think most of those low-12 guys abondoned the bolt-on thing and went on to strokers, internal-mod-engines and such. Good stuff.

Re: Fastest bolt-on car?

My times and mods are in the sig, however, I may have left out the free mods. Times were run prior to the Meziere. The only weight reduction I have done is to remove the spare and jack. Otherwise, I run on stock wheels on all four corners and my suspension is stock except for boxing the control arms and panhard rod and having relocation brackets on the 12-bolt. Race weight is 3640lbs.

Hey man. Nice 60'. What size tire are you running? Rpms and gear through the 1/4?

I am hoping to run around 124 or so mph with my bolt on+boost LT1 and if I could hook like that

Re: Fastest bolt-on car?

I only seen high 12's in a bolt on Z, but hopefully high 11's w/the head/cam/fuel mod

We'll see how far I can take an automatic on bolt-ons before adding nitrous, as the Trans Am has been getting all the stuff the other car either outgrew or was replaced.

I ran 12's w/stock wheels, bfg drags, stock weight, ie: no weight reductions, slp subs, bmr lca's/panhard, bolt-ons including Moroso CAI & SLP headers/ypipe w/a gutted cat & flowmaster cat-back. LT4KM, RAM Clutch, TB free mods, Hypertech 160 stat, manual fan switch, No RR's, no internals whatsoever, stock water pump. Stock ignition w/NGK TR55's & shielded Accel wires.
