I've seen it first hand, a friend made a few runs on dr's then ET streets.

His 60ft's are better(1.9's to 1.7's, but his et's are the same or a little better and his mph is lower.
That can happen if the ET streets are too much tire for the power of the car. The additional rolling resistance will suck up the HP. What he needed to do was up the air pressure that would have helped a lot.
But in your case Drew you need them so that you can launch that sucker hard on the spray.
