ET Street Radials work! 10.31@130.8mph!

Well the Et street radials are a real good set of tires. I went out last nite with my brand new 325/50/15's. I only got to make 2 n2o passes before they told me to slow down or leave. My car doesn't have a rollbar so the first pass I left easy then sprayed the n2o once the car was about 20-30' out (1.55 60') and ran 10.42@130.5mph with the 150HP jets. Then I pulled up and left on motor then sprayed about 10' out in the 60' and ran a 1.52 60 (the driver tire was at least 8inches off the ground) and ran 10.31@130.8mph which is the quickest I have run on 150HP n2o. I wanted to step up the n2o to 175-200HP but didn't want to get run off and not be able to go back. They are pretty cool but once the track officials have enough it's time to slow down until next time. I had to do a little beating of my inner fenders, run a small 5/16" spacer and adjust my LCA's to make them work but I love the looks and they hook. I will have some pics during the week. I am running the 15x10" Weld wheels with 7.5" backspacing also. Later Clint

Thanks Jose' the converter is a Vigilante and I don't know the STR b/c I bought it from Shon Herron used on here. We ran some spacers on some 8second cars that run 150+mph so I am not too worried about my car.

Man..awesome times. Nice that the radials can keep it hooked up like that. Youre really tempting me to throw the th350 i have sitting here in the car and putting the jug back on it.

Good luck making the 9s man.

Clint,
Awesome times! Really looking forward to catching you at a track soon. I do have a tech question. Currently, I have BFG drag radials on 17" Z06 rims (this is an extra pair of Z06 rims) to match current wheel/tire set-up. I also have 15" M/T DOT slicks on Centerlines w/ 15" M/T skinnies for the front. The latter set-up I was planning to use when I run it on juice (100-150 shot) and the former set-up for test/tune and NA racing. My question is should I replace the BFG drag radials (17 ") or the M/T DOT slicks (15") w/ M/T drag radials? Keep in mind I have not been to the track yet as I am completing preparation to race it; has mostly been a show car.
Thanks!
Mike

If you've never raced it in it's current tune, then go ahead and use the tires that you already have. Use the sticky tires on 15s whenever you can and only use the DRs for the street or DOT/DR only races. When you wear out a set, then get the MT DRs

I dont know the STR either, I called up PI and told them what I was using in the car and what I expected their TC to do in the car and they said they could deliver.
I was happy with the Vig TC and will go back with them if a need arises.
it put my HOT cam car into the 11.9s with a 1.656 60' at 3500#s.

How tall are the tires and how wide is the tread when measured with a rule?

MT DRs are in the 330+ range after mounting and balancing. We are getting them locally from a tire store. Takes about a week but cant beat the price and service!

Cool Re: ET Street Radials work! 10.31@130.8mph!

I would still like to know the "real" tire tread width and height as measured because I might get a set for my f-body or my slow GN and I know what is printed is not always correct.

I measured about 11" of tread and a little under 13" of tire form bulge to bulge. I didn't measure the height too close but they are real close to 28". I paid $325 shipped from Mccormack Racing and got them in 3days. Later Clint
