Talking Denver track results within

Incase anyone is wondering how lt1's do up here in Denver i raced at Coy's street machine showdown yesterday. I am fairly happy with the results however the tranny is officially going to need a rebuild (slipping bad in 3rd and caused me to loose in the 1st round ). The car went 14.1 at 100 mph with a 2.197 60' on street tires. Here is the track info (kinda scary)
elevation 5880
temp 68* F
barometer 23.41
pressure altitude 29.10
Density Altitude 8700'!

Car:
94 camaro w/ lt1 swap
hot cam kit
long tubes
cutout
323 gears
stock stall
street tires
custom tuning
custom cai

F-body's were running all over the place, lt1's running 15.5's down to 14.7's and some nitrous stroker motors in the 12's. Ls1's running 15.2's to 14.2's. Nobody was very consistent either but all in all it was a fun day. The yank 2800 stall is on the way and the trans is coming out for a rebuild this week so i am hoping to break 13's next time out

Nice times. I race at 5,400 feet in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Not as high, but I know how you feel. The motor is out right now getting a new cam and Accell Gen 7, but my best past here was
12.0@116mph. Looking to run in the mid to low 11's when the new stuff is in. Some people just don't understand what thin air does to your car.

I'd love to race at sea level some day. I was in Yakima Wa a couple of years ago. The DA was around 1500 feet. The engine sounds crisper and revs up so much quicker at lower altitudes. When I came home, the engine just sounded like a pig again.
