You need some traction, as if you don't already know this. But being a stick I don't know how your going to find it without putting your rear end at risk. What kind of times were you turning and what was your 60ft?

get some bfg drag radials for those at the least!
slicks would be better but i bought some 275/35/18 bfgs off ebay and they lowered my 60 ft significantly ( 3-5 tenths)
they wont hook unless you put some burnouts or miles on them by the way, but once they get broke in.....its on.

P.S. the short sidewall on the drag radials will problably give you just enough spin to keep from breaking stuff...rearend, tranny etc. I normally dont spin at all with them, but i have an a4 T/A and its completely stock too.

 

I'm gonna get some Nittos and then have some fun with it.

My 60 ft times were 2.5+...my friends 89 Tempo had better times haha

This resulted in some pretty horrible times of 16.1, 15.5, and 14.9

 

its all a learning process, looks like ur just straight up dumpin it and spining like crazy. ya gotta learn how to ride the clutch out a bit.
did u lower tire pressure at all?

You need to shift a LOT faster...

 

here is a 13.6@103 run of me on street tires..i didnt go all out on the launch and shiftin but it was fair enough..see how i kinda "rode the clutch out" off idle compared to just straight up dumpin it to get less wheel spin

Was something different with your setup between the two vids? You hit 5th gear in the first one, but not in the second.

 

Yeah I had no idea how to start.

I thought since my tires were so big in the back, I could just pretty much dump it and it would grab and haul *** off the line, but i was mistaken.

And yea, my shifts aren't great. Need some practice on that. I'll eventually get it.

I got consistantly better throughout the night, so i think i'm on the right track.

nah crossed the line on the top of 4th gear, and just shifted into 5th to "calm" it down..
I wanna smoke this SLP clutch i got now and upgrade to a RAM setup, get those powershifts a weee bit better

and run my BFG drag radials, give it hell and just pray for the 4:11 10 bolt off the line

 

yeah we'll be pushing you off the track
