Could i hit lower 60' times.
Could i hit lower 60' times.
Im on 315/30/18 BFG DR's right now at full race weight. I plan on loosing about 100 lbs the next time i go to the track and removeing the front sway bar. Last time i went to the 1/8 i ran a 8.9 at 80mph with a best 60' time of 2.099. With the power im makeing, 265hp and 295tq, could i lower my 60' times to maybe 1.8's. I was lauching at about 1500 rpm and i dont think i had alot, if any, wheel spin. I dont remember if i was flooring it off the line or babying it to get a better 60' time. I only made a few passes.
But those of you out there that have about the same mods, what are you running?

I didn't see a stall converter or gears listed. To improve your 60 fts you'll need a good converter (Vigilante 9.5" 3200 works great) and possibly some 3.73 gears. I was able to hit some 1.67 60 fts with those items, adjustable torque arm, some suspension work and ET streets.

With the weight loss and ditching the sway bar your 60's will def improve. But you really need a convertor and gears as mentioned above. Also 16in or better yet 15 in wheels to swap out at the track would help alot.
When you launch are you footbraking it or just leaving off idle....Although i havent been to the track with the new combo yet i find i get much harder(not sure if better 60') launches leaving off idle rather than to stall it up on the footbrake.

I am footbreaking it until i think about 1500 rpm. Im not really serious anout raceing right now but when i do i will upgrade the stall, gears, and drag wheels/tires. I just want to see what i can get the way it is right now.
