The key to racing is getting down the track as quick as possible. Their are a variety of ways of doing this. Weight reduction, Power Adders, and Big cubes are just a few.

Unless you race in a class that has specific rules and regulations, you just need to worry about getting down the track in the least amount of time. Nitrous is just one option.

Tell your dad to have him disconnect the bottle and run street tires, no DRs. Thats a fair race: N/A for N/A and no stickies. That should even the playing field. I'm guessing when you said 11s you meant like 11.7-11.99. Most 99 GT guys prefer a 100-150 shot that I've met. That said, most 99 GT guys running a 150 shot ARE in the 11.7-11.99 area. Of course they have a few other bolt-ons, but my guess is this is a low 13/high 12 N/A car.

Even the playing field. Let the dude with the GT run a 75 shot of gas. Thats is pretty close to the 65 cubic inch advantage n/a vs. n/a the ls1 has.

Come on guys this can get dumb. Either your car is faster or slower. From the way it sounds, the dudes dad realizes that running against the stang with nitrous he will probably lose. It is probably a friendly race.

If he was telling the truth and the GT really ran just under 11 seconds with the gas, I would have to say it was a mid-to-low 12 second car n/a. That of course if just under 11s meant 10s and if the guy was running a 100-150 shot. But we may never know if this mustang exsists or not.

I too have a real hard time believing this '99 4.6 GT runs "high" tens(you said just under 11's) with some bolt-ons and gas. He must be using a HUGE shot of nitrous to be that fast. Otherwise, stock '99-'03 5-speed GT's are usually low 14's stock(few are high 13's) @ 96-100 depending upon the driver. I doubt he would be in the 12's with only bolt-ons let alone high 10's with the gas but anything's possible I guess?

Did he forget to mention the nice supercharger he has too?! No flames please, but isn't that usually what makes the '99-'03 GT's fast?
