Car hooks good but poor 60ft. Help
Car hooks good but poor 60ft. Help
It was my first time to the track on my BFG dr's. I would tach the car up as high as I could and smash the gas on the third yellow. The tires didn't spin at all, but I was consistantly getting 2.0x 60fts.
My car is a 2002 z28 w/ only lid, exhaust and TNT 100 shot. The N2o doesn't hit until after 60ft so it isn't an issue.
I have a stock stall and 2.73 gears. Is this the limit of my stall and gears or is there a way to get of the line harder? Should I leave off idle and try to "flash" the converter? I can tell the tires will hold for .1 or .2 more tenths in the 60, but is there a way to do it?
I know i need a converter but money is real tight right now.
Thanks
Dustin
Edit:
I did a 12.2 @ 117 on the spray, and I am itching to se an 11.9x on my time slip with this setup. I think a 1.9 60 might just be enough.

It's going to be really hard to do anything better than maybe a 1.9 with the 2.73's and a stock stall. Those gears just aren't going to leave the line real fast. I would launch just above idle(maybe 800-900 rpm's) to get a little more kick. But until you do gears or a converter you'll most likely be stuck in the 2.0's
