Did he have to go to the body shop to fix his bumper afterwords.
What kind of tranny is he running? Also, what kind of cowl hood is he running (make and size)?
Thanks for the info

Trust me, the pic does not do this car justice. Holy ****, I thought he was going over backwards. Course his next run was a quite a bit lower, but he almost met the wall. I have a few questions, I meant to ask him this weekend, but didnt get a chance before you guys left. Anyhow what kind of suspension pieces is he running? Whats the details on his motor, what size shot of juice? Thanks!
P.S. Did he do any major damage to the car after landing that hard? Matt

OneQuikZ: Suspension-HAL 12 ways and drag springs up front, PA tubular k-member and lower a-arms, Madman&Co manual rack, Madman Chrome Moly T/A, Out back-stock springs, competetion engineering 3-way shocks, hotchkis LCA&panhard bar, Airbags, Strange 12-bolt. Motor Work-Stock LT-1 block bored .030 w/2-bolt mains and stock crank. Eagle H-beam 6" rods, Ross pistons. LT-4 heads and intake by Total Engine Airflow, Comp Cams custom grind, TNT plate Nitrous kit, jetted to 300 hp. All this done on stock computer with reset rev limiter and re-calibration for the 30 lb injectors.
1fstTA- btw: your car is pretty sweet- He is running a 29.5 X10.5 ET Drag, A TH-400 trans with a custom built converter (stall around 3800, flash on juice is about 4400) He is running a 4.30 out back.
Nostang96z-The hood is a glasstek 4" cowl.
First off, speaking for Jason, thank for all the comments. I dont know if any of you guys were at the NFRA last year, but this is the car that won the LT-1 P/A class. The car would only get the wheels up about 1-1.5 feet last year. So, if anything is a true testament to how weight CAN make a whole hell of a lot of difference, I dont know what could prove better besides an actual E.T.
The car came down pretty hard after that launch, we think maybe the k-member is bent. Otherwise nothing was hurt, bewsides a nice scrape all along the underside of the back bumper, and lots of scrapes on the underside of the front bumper. He made a second attempt on the 150 pill and still carried the wheels to the 60-foot box about 4 feet up in the air (1.42 60-ft with rear tires), but the car veered to the right in the air, and when he came down it was very close to the center line..He had no choice but to cross over to the right lane, thankfully the guy he was racing was far back.
He thinks the time for some chassis tuning is about due, probably install a anti-roll bar. He might get travel limiters for the front, and also this car hasnt been weighed (nobody at the scales this weekend..he took about 250-275 off the car this winter, all was from drivers seat forward.), we think the weight distribution is a little off. So hopefully we will get all that lined out, and the car will launch moderately low (maybe 2-3 feet)and stay straight.
He was dissapointed only from the standpoint that he didnt get a timeslip!
After the race we went to Total Engine Airflow and put the car on the chassis dyno. The car made 698.4 RWHP and 754.2 RWTQ on the 300 shot. That is 873 HP and 942 TQ at the crank. Who says you need a big stroker motor to put down serious HP?
Hopefully more to come ASAP! Hopin for deep 9's.

DAMN!!!!!!!! That's Crazy HIGH.
IMPRESSIVE
That car is launching like Billingsley's old Camaro.
Jason will be in the 9's easily once the chassis is figured out. Glad he's ok. That's gotta be the highest 4th gen launch I've seen yet on here.
I've removed a lot of weight from my front end this year and now those pictures have me worried about my chassis setup. I hope I don't have the same problem when I hit the track.

Thanks for the reply twisted! I have a couple of questions about that bada$$ ride. What is the race weight of it? What does that car run on the motor? Do you have any idea what the heads flow? Any N/A dyno numbers? That is a hell of a lot of horsepower to push through a th400 to the wheels. Very impressive
Matt
Matt
rje- it only came up straight the first time-the pics you saw on the 300 shot. The second time on the 150 shot, the car drifted and when he came down he had no choice but to cross over into the other lane to avoid a crash.
Nostang96z- he appreciates the comments-
We never got to weigh the car...nobody was at the scales.. it is estimated to be at 3250.
The heads were done by Total Engine Airflow, and I believe they flowed mid 290's on the intake and mid 230's on the exhaust. The exhaust ports were just "cleaned up" no major porting done there.(Room for improvement)
Since the car is set up for nitrous, he never has made a N/A pass with the auto, the car went a 7.53@95.5 1/8 when it was a stick car, slipping the clutch.
It dynoed 381.2 RWHP and 351.8 RWTQ on the motor.

I did something similar in weight reduction. Added an ARE K-member/A-arms, changed my Th400(2.75 first and 1.57 second gear ratios, low gear planetary [TCI 22750 gear set], removed some more excess weight in other areas, and added some race seats.
I think I might have made a mistake with my setup. The new planetary will provide me with a better take-off and improved low-end power. On the trans brake this could be a problem.
I take it Jason was on the brake on that pass?
Anyway, Jason's car is very impressive for only a 355 with a stock crank runing LT4 heads. Show's everyone that it can be done on a small motor. Hopefully the damage is minimal from that launch and you guys can make a full 9 sec 1/4 pass next time out.
Keep up the good work and hope to see you guys back on the track.
