can i use doughnuts(spare tire) for skinnys?

Stupied question here but im gonna ask it anyways cause im bored....
Has anybody ever used their doughnut or doughnuts (spare tire) as for a skinnys for drag racing at the strip.
Cause I have 2 doughnut tires and i was woundering if they can handle the stress from racing?

The rims, yes. The tires, no. They'll kick you off the track if you're caught.

You can use the rims and have some 165R15 volkswagon tires mounted on them.

As mentioned above, rims are rims, but the tires are not rated for highway speeds let alone racing...

The rims are heavy, they look like crap, and they are small. I don't know why anyone would want to do this.

I don't think I have any pics of my car with those rims. I used them for about 1/2 season. Paint them silver and they won't look as bad.

Now if you could find the extremly rare 1LE aluminum space saver rim, that would be the cheap way to go. Good luck finding 2 of them.

Those aluminum spce savers also cam on GTAs from 87 to 90 I have a few and have been contemplating this...lol

Here's my 16" "skinnie" with a quick coat of silver paint

The 16" spare isn't that heavy, it weighed something like 27.5 lbs, not sure about the older 15" spare. I was going to pick up another like this and get a set of cheapie tires but I gave up on the idea after finding no tires available in this size. The only way to do the spare/skinnie idea is to use the 15" with the 165r15 VW tires. Sucks too because the 16" didn't look half bad
