Calculating 1/4 mile time

Does anyone know the formula to calculate 1/4 mile time, not a website which has two inputs weight and horsepower which gives estimated 1/4 mile time, but I want the actual formula. thanks in advance.

Well the only way to calculate ET or MPH is to know the weight and hp since ET and mph are calculated from a power to weight ratio. Knowing the car's race weight, car with driver fuel etc, and the ET/MPH it runs in the 1/4, you can calculate how much HP it took to go that fast.

MPH is a better indication of hp since ET depends on traction. If you hook up or spin off the line, mph will stay roughly the same but ET will suffer when you spin.

If you want a formula to "predict" an ET, that's something different. Spend the money on a PerforAIRE or Tag system to do ET predictions. The formulas needed are not very simple plus need accurate weather data to give accurate predictions.
