BF drags

I remember the old bf drag radials that had one big slick style middle tread, and some actual patterns off to the side. Why does it seem like they dont sell these anymore? The only ones i see for sale now look like an off road tire compared to older style.

The reason why I ask is because my summer goal is a 1.8x 60ft. How are people 60fts compared with Nitto drags and bf drags??

Some people are just flat out sucky at launchin though...

I normally run a 275/50R15 BFG DR on my TA and have cut a few 1.55 60's on them. Damn good tire for the track, but street life is VERY limited. I got about 6 - 7 months out of mine. If you will use them on the street very often go with a Nitto.

Well

I work at SEARS in the auto center. I know they still sell those tires like your talking through summit but places like tireplus and sears sell what their catalogs say. If they search they can find the ones your looking for. Also Mickey Thompson sells tires that are drag racing oriented for 16 inch rims.

I have the newer style BFG drag radials that I bought through Summit Racing. The middle thread is only an inch wide. In the catalog it looks like its 4 inches wide. I guess they changed the deisgn so they are more streetable. It doesn't matter really because they still hook pretty good. I've been limiting my 60ft times to 1.8 by slipping the clutch because I have a 10-bolt. A friend of mine has cut some low 1.6x 60ft times on the same tires and might even make it into 1.5s.

i was in the market for the bfgs for the longest time but every place that i talked to said that they were on national backorder for like 6 months. so i opted to go with the nittos. i have two things to say. they look very nice and hook good as hell on the street. im runnin the 275 40s with 25 psi with a bolton car. i was having major traction problems with the goodyears, i really like these, but as i said before i never tested the bfs but would still like to. hope this helps
