Best 6 point weld in bar around? Wolfe?

I am finally getting a rollbar put in my T/A so I can legally run my car at a couple events. I was looking to have a custom bar done but everybody is too busy for months so I just want a mildsteel 6 point weld in bar all prebent that fits nicely. I like the Wolfe and S&W what you guys, who have experience with either, think? Sad part is the car still won't be legal to run 9's but I ain't ready to go that far with modifying the car now. (Competition License, chassis cert, blah blah...) Later Clint

Just know before hand no matter which manufacturer you decide to get your pre bent kit from, it will not just fit into the car out of the boxes, you will still need to cut and fish mouth every one to perfection, so it really boils down to whome you prefer to get it from.

I'm not putting down or talking up and brand, but will say I had good luck with my Jegster 8 point. Many guys on another racing board love dealing with S&W since they are always there and go out of their way to help their customers and racers with any questions/problems that might arise.

I got mine through competition engineering.

Wolfe gets my vote. Having owned 2 of them (2 different cars) and installed 5, its the best fitting and looking cage available for our cars.

I have a Wolfe and I like it. I cannot speak for anything else as I have no first hand experience. I do know the installation required a few additional plates to get the clearance on the main hoop to meet NHRA specifications for the distance between the main hoop and the top of the seat but all in all was pretty straight forward. Make sure the person doing it knows his stuff. It is all about the installation. Also, get some good quality padding. I wasted a few bucks on the cheap stuff first and I mean literally wasted my money. As soon as it showed up I knew I made a mistake. Get the good stuff.

Thanks for the replys guys. It looks like I will be going with a Wolfe. I guess there is no way to powdercoat a weld in cage since it will burn the powdercoat off when your welding it together. I guess I could fit it all in then powdercoat close to the joints then just touch up the welds with paint. Later Clint

If you order the notched bar you won't need a jig notcher. Wolfe does a very good job of notching the bars for you.

Huh? That is exactly what I was telling him to do.

They seem a bit pricey to me.

The fact that they can't even spell Camaro right doesn't give me much faith in them either.

I have the Wolfe bolt in and like it. If your track inspector is "picky", I believe the side bars on the Wolfe cage and lower than NHRA rules.

i have an S&W and it fit great. with a small bend on the door bars it fit right around the door panel and tucked neatly into the kick panel. Plus it was only around $230 shipped to my house. i can post up pics if you'd like.

Just FYI, Wolfe rollbars are on serious backorder. I ordered mine in December and have yet to get it. This is not a rant about them, but just FYI in case you are expecting a quick buy on one.

I ordered mine then too, no update from them whatsoever and they have not responded to emails.....

I have already sold my harnesses and have no plan to pick up my roll bar.

Was told 4.5 weeks.
