I race in the NHRA Summit Bracket series (No-Electronics) at my home track. This is my fifth year racing since I got back into drag racing. I also bracket race at other tracks here in Oklahoma and some tracks in North Texas and Southern Kansas.

My home track is one of the toughest places around to win rounds in No-E, as we’ve got several very good racers. Also, our track either wins the track points at the NHRA Division 4 each year, or places in the top three.

I don't mean to make you feel any worse, but I'm headed up to Kansas tomorrow for a Sunday day-time race. So far the weather is looking good for tomorrow, only 20% change of rain and 70s for a high.

Hang in there, you'll get some good weather soon.

I been racing in modified, no electronics, for 8 years now. I have 1 championship, one second, and several top five finishes in pts racing. My track starts it's pts racing on april 19th. Bracket racing has really gotten alot tougher in the last few years, it seems everybody is pretty good now. I don't know about other places, but NC has gotten to the point if ypu can't cut .020 bulbs consistently you'll be on the trailer before you know it.

You’re correct on the lights! It’s the same thing at my track, several very experienced racers routinely cut under .020 lights foot-braking round-after-round.

Also, I swear one racer at our track has some kind of physic powers. At the stripe he knows exactly when to take the stripe for the win. And, when to dump you, let you take the stripe and break-out by a few thousands. And yes, this guy won the No-E points championship last year, also the King of the Track.

I'm considering running points at Thompson Raceway Park, then hitting a few races at Norwalk and hitting some of the big dollar footbrake races that are popping up. I've never chased points as a driver but done it for almost 20 years as a crew-member and crew-chief on a few different teams. I also spent two seasons chasing good air for both a Stock and SuperStock national record.

My wife (of 3 years) has never really been around racing much but she loves it and enjoys helping out, Hopefully I can get her behind the wheel to let her drive.
