Post auto launches

I have a basically stock 94 Z-28 automatic. What is the best way to launch? I just put the pedal to the metal now,is there a better technique?

All I can tell you is hold the brake as hard as possible and press in the gas, rev it up to the point where the tires are just getting ready to break, ~1100 rpms. Then let off the brake and launch it, but don't neccesary floor it, not until you have traction. If you have traction the whole time just floor it. Of course you more than likely can't do that on street tires. Need Dr's or ET's. This is what I do at least.
