Anyone else's DR's wear out unevenly?
Hey guys.. I've got probably 75 passes on my Nitto's and the right Nitto seems to be pretty normally worn, you can still see the pattern in the middle pretty well (about 50% worn I'd say) while my left Nitto is showing hardly any tread left in the middle, about bald dare I say.
I watch my burnouts on tape and in my mirrors when I'm burning out, I heat them up quite a bit, and they seem to be smoking evenly.
They work perfectly, I cut 1.7x 60's no problem all day long. Just wondering why one would wear out so much faster? PSI in them is identical, and they hardly have any street use. Thoughts?

This is the result of uneven loading of the rear end on launch and under power. Due to the torque of the drivetrain you will get more load on the left rear tire than on the right. Vise versa, this is why you see many cars pick up the left front tire while the right front is still on the ground. This will cause the left rear tire to wear more. This is why many people use air bags, or some other method, to even the load at launch.
Basically you tires are telling you that you need to adjust your suspension. I would try an air bag in the right rear coil spring to help even out the load.

Hey thanks for the suggestion! For right now I'm going to have my Nitto's flipped around (dismounted and remounted) to compensate for the wear, although I will follow that suggestion.
Will airbags work with the stock 4th gen springs? And if so, any ideas on how to set it up?

Center wear means too much pressure. Try lowering the pressure in that tire.

Around what pressure do you start at to test out the airbag? I have a track rental coming up and found someone with an airbag locally, so I'll be installing it tomorrow if all goes as planned.
