Any Way To Calculate 1/4 ET From Just 1/8 MPH?
Any Way To Calculate 1/4 ET From Just 1/8 MPH?
Here's what Ive got, my car ran the time in sig last weekend with my new plate set up. The passes were pretty conservative as you can tell by the 60ft.
But 8.1 @ 92 in the 1/8 is just plain ****-poor. That much MPH is just crazy for the ET. I was cutting 1.7 60fts before my N2O backfire, when I was much more agressive with the launch.
My 1/4 only trapped 113 because I had to let off between the 2-3 shift. I think I prolly could have gotten another 1-2 MPH if not for that.
I compared my slip to a friend who has a '00 SS with 3.73s with a simular set up to mine, and he went a 7.7 @ 90 in the 1/8 and 11.9 @ 114 in the 1/4.
So I'm trying to get an idea of what my car has got left in it with that 1/8 MPH, since that seems to be the only thing "on par". Anyone got any ideas??
TIA, Jon

General rule of thumb is the 1.8 mile ET time 1.55, but it does't sound like that is going to be very helpful. I run 11.8-12.0 at around 110-112 normally. My 1/8 mile speeds are usually 88-89. However my 1/8 mile ET's are usually 7.5's with high 1.5 or low 1.6 sixty foot times.

Yea, see, you've got good 60s. It's all about that 60ft. If that's bad, everything concerning the ET will be off through the entire run, even though the MPH will be good.
I was thinking if I could get back down to 1.7s, that's .4 quicker in the 60ft than what I'm cutting now. Theoretically, that would be a HUGE gain in the 1/4 ET.
I'm mainly trying to figure out if I can get 11s like it is. I would think at least low 12s, but I want some other opinions...

Yes, but I need to try and calculate from the 1/8 MILE PER HOUR, not the ET. That chart, unfortunately, won't do me one bit of good.
Obviously, I'm runing faster than what the chart says- Chart: 8.1 in the 1/8 translates into 12.6 in the 1/4. I went a 8.1 & 12.4.
It's all about the 60 and the MPH
