Another 12 sec LT1 bolt on car!

Look out Steve!

I've been doing a little tweaking to a friend of mines car, a 94 Z28 M6. And its running surprisingly well. It has SLP CAI, BBK headers and the same ghetto-style exhaust that I ran on my car. With a little tweaking here, little tweaking there, we got the car down to a 12.98 at 105.6 yesterday at Darlington International Dragway....in 95 degree heat.

Now I know a 12.9 is a far cry from a 11.9...but the car has Stock throttle body, stock rockers, stock gear, no electric water pump. No suspension...the car is as stock as the next Z28 you'll see running around. It ran faster than mine did with the same things done.

60 ft...1.92
1/8th mile....8.34
1/8th mph....84.6
1/4 mile......12.98
mph.............105.6

Yeah, those little tweaks must have been pretty significant, those times would be more acceptable if the car had LT's, but BBK headers suck. Did the car have some programming? Weight reduction?

Cant give out all the secrets! I do think he has some sort of tune on it. He did mention something about a tune he got off ebay or something. I dunno about BBK headers sucking...I had Edelbrocks on my car and everybody says that suck too, but then again, my junk ran pretty well for what it had done.

Shorties do not suck. I dont think LTs picked up my car at all...but my car is crap...

Weight is a killer feature on these cars.

I did not say that shorties suck. I said that BBKs do. I have heard multiple stories of people gaining very little or no rwhp, as well as no ET or MPH improvements with them.

Most of these times are in the 1.8th mile tracks locally. I do not have the weather info but typically each run would be in warmer weather than the next.....

Thumbs up

Awesome Russ!!! Ok here is the # to beat... 12.53. That was with stock TB, rockers, water pump, pulleys. Only thing not stock on the engine was the t-stat & headers. Only suspension mod was the LCAs. Converter was 2800.
Keep us posted bud, especially after the summer when the air cools down.
Oh and when you beat my 11.94 I'm throwing the stock heads back on and coming for you!!! LOL

I think with a gear and some Cold, Louisana air, it could have a real chance of matching that. Theres just not any decent tracks really around here that are good for awesome times.....maybe rockingham in November, but by then I'm sure the fella with the car will have more done. But after my car, another buddy's car which we got to run 8.1 1/8th miles, and now this car, its becoming easy to make one run 12's with hardly anything done. I mean, 600 bucks in mods....and 12's.

Hey I just took a 12 second bolt on LT1 and went 21.89 on Saturday. Now that's news. I'm tired of playing catch up with you guys. It's time for more cubes.

yea i'm hoping the 4.11's will help me get out of the holea little bit faster beingmy car is so heavy you could hear it die after the nose lifted.. so.. i mathmatically evened it up.. and awaiting a track day to test.. i figure if i can 60ft a 1.8 or if i'mlucky a 1.7 i'll be seeing 12.50's or possibly lowerif the air is there..who knows.. I'm not rich like kaz so i'll be bolt on till the end of my cruise.. Then i'll bolt on a t82 and kissthe 12's goodbye
