Thumbs up 9.60 @ 141.52mph! not too shabby ;)

well I headed down to the North vs. South event this past weekend, set a new personal best of 9.60@ 141.52 mph. excellent traction at the track, Da was about 2500, with a 15-20mph headwind.

on a pro tree......
r/t .206 (sleeping)
60' 1.342
330 3.957
1/8 6.138
mph 113.07
1000' 8.019
1/4 9.607
mph 141.52

i got to run the cartek car on that run, if i hadn't been sleeping it could've been even closer! i started pulling him on the big end, a wee bit! had a couple lower 10 sec. passes earlier just taking it easy, with bullet mufflers i had a tendancy to shift early cause it was so frickin' loud! lol! but on the final pass i waited for the shiftlight to tell me when to shift

i will get video to Brett at BMR to host over the next day or two! thanks to Brett for getting me out the Drag Bar so quickly! i didn't have a chance to adjust it for preload but will do prior to this
weekend.
as usual i had the wife do an excellent job of filming the runs!

Tanner, I have some ? for you

I'm running a 396 13.1 solid roller with afr 210 heads that flow 310@.650 lift. I plan on running a 250 shot down it. I guess my question would be is how is your tranny holding up to that power/torque? what clucth are you running and what size tire is on the car.

I just don't think the tranny will last long, but yours seems to be ok. I also race at 5,600 feet elevation so I'm not sure the car will dip into the 9's here, but think 10.0's are possible.

Also, have you dyno'd the car on that 300shot. What was the torque and hp numbers. Thanks

Neal

tom,

yeah believe me i was bummed, no doubt not as much as roman!

it really put a damper on things, i did not run after that happened. oh well, st.thomas this weekend i hope to go on sunday, i plan on dialing it backa bit, that track i am not sure will hold a 300 shot again. i think a 250 shot is in order, maybe it will spin a bit less and get me out quicker. i will see. it is an essex county shootout, there will be a quick eight shootout.

PNYKILR,

mcleod street twin, bmr everything, D&D redid my tranny after i broke my output shaft last year, the one thing i did that i believe has helped is i cryogenically treated both shafts and gears and cluster. i am actually glad my compression is around 10.5:1, it allows me to introduce more artificial atmosphere
28" tires - MT drags, sorry no dyno runs on spray, but it calculates to about 760 rwhp! not too bad.

g'luck!
