87 iroc z questions/help/opinions

Hello,
I'm going to be modifying my stock 1987 iroc z 350 tpi camaro for the upcoming racing season. I've been running it with open exhaust and slicks and running 14.60's. I'm looking at the following changes and would like advice on products, experiences, etc..

Shorty Headers--brand? need it to hook up to stock exhaust manifolds
Timing--10 degrees?
Gears--3.90's?
Fan switch for a on/off fan
New front tires--Want to do something smaller/skinnier for the track

If you have any advice please share. Thank you!

I am not sure what you are asking about the headers?

Timing 13 degrees.
Gears-373s are best with stock cam. Get someone to weld your axle tubes.
Port your upper intake manifold. Google it or search on thirdgen.org to see what is done.
Port your MAF.
Get a stock driveshaft from an LS1 car. They are aluminum and fit right on your car.
Find some composite ttops. They are usually on the newer cars and are much lighter than your glass ones if you have ttops.
Have someone box your lower rear control arms and inspect the bushings. If bushing are shot get some 1le bushings.
When staging barely trip the bulbs. This will give you about a foot head start
Over inflate your front tires by about 10 psi at the track only

All of this stuff is cheap. Even on a single cat 350 they will help.
