8 second update

Well it has been a long time since I updated you guys on my car. As some of you may know I have had real problems with car standing on the bumper. last season I installed my new 15 degree motor and the problem became very acute. This past spring I sent the car down to Gerald dyer (864 836 2558) in South Carolina. He built my engine and also does Chassis tuning and suspension work. Yesterday he finally got all the bugs worked out and the car won the limited modified race. It is still stock suspension with 28 x 10.5 ET streets on a single stage(plate system). The engine is a 15 degree SBC with solid roller and a 4150 carb. Transmission is a powerglide. Weight is 3250 as per race rules. Here is the slip.

60ft 1.26
1/8 ET 5.41
1/8mph 132.6
1/4ET 8.46
1/4mph 166.8

I am very happy. This is with no wheelie bars or slicks. The car ran consistant high 8.4's all day. Gerald says there is more in it and he expects it to run bottom 8.3's maxed out. I recommend Gerald for serious race car builds he has helped me more then anyone in this sport. Now its time for the fogger!

Re: 8 second update

Gerald did the heads on the motor. They have 2.18, 1.625 titaninum valves. They are very large and flow over 380cfm @ .700 lift. For more info call him. I don't care much about the specs as all I was worried about was if they made power and they did so I am a happy customer. Good luck with your project.
