4l60E to TH 400 swap, info guys?

Well first off I have found a guy wanting to sell a TH 400. I have been wanting to do the swap for a little while now and have just bought another ride so this car can be for drag racing and occasional weekend outings. I will buy the BMR xtreme TA but need to know what all I need to find out from this guy before I buy it. And what other parts I will need to accuire to make the swap. I will be running 373's in the stock rear end. Until it breaks then go with a 12 bolt. What are yalls opinions??
thanks

by the way, I have done some searches on this but didnt come up with an exact list of problems people have had doing this. I would think its getting to be a common modification to all the fbdys that are running low 10's nowadays.

If you keep searching there is a thread that someone posted with the items needed. But if you would like the short version to do the swap these are the majority of items needed.

The tranny will bolt to the engine without a problem. People go and purchase a T56 trans crossmember and elongate the mounting hole where the tranny will mount. There are two items needed in order to make your speedo work and to take care of the VSS. I've been told that GM now offers a kit for this? You can purchase them from GM. Reluctor ring and sensor. These two items will need to be installed on the Turbo 400.

The ECM will also need some add attention in order to get everything working smooth. Most people are using LT1 edit to make the changes. You will need to purchase aftermarket shifter like a B&M or Hurst. This was probably the most pain in butt part of the whole job and that was getting the park and neutral switch wired and remounted not to mention that all the other items like the air bag sensor relocated(I removed my air bags so I didn't worry about this) if you retain the air bags. You will see the few other thing when you take the center console apart.

The next thing in order will be to have your drive shaft shortened. That for the most part this will be whats needed to do the job.

Good Luck,
