1st track times with bolt-on LT-1

My 1993 Z28 is mostly stock, with a few bolt ons. I have SLP headers, Edelbrock cat-back, Moroso cold air intake, TB air foil, 3.73's, and a cheezy old school Hypertech chip. The car is an auto as well.

I ran a best of 13.602 @ 102.4, with a 2.01 60 foot. All three runs were nearly identical, and with the engine fairly hot because I did not have much time. I might have eeked a 13.50 if I had some ice for the intake, and an hour for it to cool down.

I would like to get into the 12's without hurting driveability. I was thinking of adding a loose converter, tires, pulleys, 1.6 rockers, and a tune. I was also considering just finding a used Powerdyne kit, getting some big injectors and a tune, and leaving it alone.

Whaddayall think?

Nice times. Add on those planned bolt-ons and you may be in the very low 13 second range, or possibly high 12s.

I don't really want to go with nitrous. I had it on a few other cars and it was kind of a pain. I always had to be "ready" when driving around with my nitrous cars. Bottle heater on cold days, timing pulled out, and having to open the bottle at a stoplight sucks.
Once I went to blower I loved it. The power is always there, and they sound great.

A remote bottle heater and a Mallory 685 box that automatically pulls timing when the nitrous system is activated. Seems simple enough for me.

My SES light kept coming on toward redline, giving me a code 55. Fuel lean I guess. I was turning 85 mph in the 1/8th, so maybe when I get the fuel system fixed it will run a little faster.

I have run nitrous in my previous Mustangs. After buying a decent kit and all of the right accessories I was pretty close to the price of a decent used blower kit. I have since run A-trims, S-trims, Powerdynes, Novi's, and a Procharger on my Fords. I like the power being there all of the time and not have to spend $50 every 3 1/4 mile passes.
