12's possible? what's needed
Im looking to get to the track this year in hopes of maybe mid to high 12's.
Motor has around 800 miles on it. Its a Crate motor from GM with a 4 bolt main.
Stats:
95 6spd z28 LT1 800 miles on new motor.
New opti,plugs wires everything.
Baseline dyno the old motor with 98k put down 262wh/285tq. only had hollowed cats. Havent dynoed with new motor and everything listed below.
Current mods:
K&N cold air intake with 1Le elbow
T/b air foil
Jet hot long tube headers.No egr No cats.
custom y pipe with dual cutouts to a borla exhaust.
160* t-stat
Spec stage 2+ clutch kit
LS1 aluminum drive shaft
B&m short shifter
3.73 gears with rebuilt 7.5" rear.
replica zr1 wheels 9.5" Rears are NItto drag radials size 275/40/17.
suspension is agx gas shocks. With unknown springs( i believe stock) and possibly a set of weld in subframe connectors.
Think I can hit mid to high 12's with this set up? or what else would I need? I have 1.6 sa rr's pushrods, that arent installed and im actually debating selling.

There are many different variations of the crate motor. We need more info, but you may be close but if its stock specs you may not quite be there. If you can hook up though you might be good.

Is your car tuned? If not you probably should get it tuned. mail order would be fine. Other than that, as long as you can drive you should have no problems getting into the 12s. If you dont, you might need to swap out those 17s and do some minor weight reduction.

It's not tuned yet. I was thinking about installing the rr's first then getting a mail order tune. As far as weight reduction what would you recomend? Theres already no spare tire or jack. Didnt come with one when i bought it.
