12s with exhaust, tune, gears and tire only

1995 trans am vert m6, madz28 tune, full exhaust, 4.10s, bfg drag radials out back, 3.5" skinnies up front. Was at englishtown with a raceweight of 3620lbs

1st run
55*
front tires at 50psi, rears at 20
launched at 3500 and bogged HARD
60'.....2.037
330....5.666
1/8....8.626
MPH...82.58
1000..11.170
1/4....13.307
MPH...105.53

2nd run
57*
Tires same, launched from 4200 and bogged hard again
60'.....1.899
330....5.433
1/8....8.372
MPH...32.65
1000..10.909
1/4....13.045
MPH...105.59

3rd run
no temp
Tires same, launched at 4500 and still bogged
60'.....1.855
330....5.385
1/8....8.308
MPH...83.32
1000..10.831
1/4....12.955
MPH...106.17

4th run
no temp
Tires same, launched at 4800 and finally didnt bog
60'.....1.820
330....5.335
1/8....8.265
MPH...83.10
1000..10.792
1/4....12.920
MPH...106.03

I still think i could have left a little harder on that last run, and the weather was probably somewhere near 60* so the car's still got more in it, and the next time ill be at atco, hopefully improving to a 12.70 or better.

Nice, escpecially with a vert. You need to work on leaving a little more and you can run 12.50's with 106mph. Do you have the front swaybar on? Also try dropping the pressure on those tires. I find they work good at 15-16psi. Later Clint

Re: 12s with exhaust, tune, gears and tire only

let me hear more details on ur setup..like clutch? roller rockers?..how many miles on the motor.. 4:10 10 bolt? what were u shifting at?

We have identical mods pretty much and im shootin for very similar times..
back in June i went 13.4@104 1.9 60' in like 85 degree weather at Atco w/ 141k on the motor..
im goin to Maple Grove nov 4th to shoot for a new best..i wanna leave the line like you but i fear of the 10 bolt on this BFG drag radials

Thats very good! I'm still in the 13.50s with similar mods, but I'm an automatic and the DA was in the lower 2000s. Maybe I can get closer to what you're running in decent weather. Very nice!
