12-Bolt vs 9"

I am in the market for a new rearend. I am weighing my options currently. I like that you can retain your ABS (3 Channel on my 95) with the 12-bolt. But I like the 9" strength, ease of changing setups with drop out 3rd member.

Has anybody broke a Moser 12-Bolt with an Eaton Posi?

My combo is a solid roller 392 LT1 in my 95 M6/Formula with a Mcleod Street Twin. I also have an NX fogger that I will installing over the winter and looking to spray 200-300HP...whatever it takes to run a high 9.

I just want some input before laying out $2000+ on a rearend...I don't want to buy it twice.

Thanks,

Dave

I am not too sure but I believe the 9" rearend takes a little more power than the 12 bolt. But it is a little stronger. If you want to go with a trick setup, Mark Williams makes a center section that uses 12 bolt gears. The strength of a 9" with the little extra HP of a 12 bolt. But it is quite expensive. Also you will not be able to have ABS or traction control with the 9". I guess witchever one you want will do what you are shooting for.

I would just go ahead and get the 9". Like you said you don't want to be buying it twice and both rear ends cost about the same price if you shop around. Might as well get the better of the two and not worry about it.
