WOT 2-3 shift is not after HPP+ install...??
I hope someone can help..I put my HPP+ in my car and did not change the shift points for the car but when I am going about 40MPH I punch it and it kicks down and goes and goes all the way and bounces off the Rev limiter..well actially 6200 or so..and wont shift??? why is that???
Re: WOT 2-3 shift is not after HPP+ install...??
take away the SHIFT FIRMNESS option from your HPP+ tune, not good for the transmission.
another thought, did you enter the correct tire height/ gear ratio when you tuned your car???

reload the origal tune in there and return it to stock.
if it still does it you probably have tranny trouble.
one question though, do you have a stall if so how much.

Using a 94 A4 bin?
I used a 95 A4 bin on my 94 A4 once and it would never shift passed 2nd. The bin was totally stock too. I reloaded the stock 94 bin and it worked again. There is something between these two years AFA the trans goes imo.

Re: WOT 2-3 shift is not after HPP+ install...??
bin=binary code. It's just the file you flash to the PCM. As long as your HPP+ is for a 94 Automatic F-body then you shouldn't have the problem I am was talking about. If it's for a 94 Manual or another year it may cause shifting problems.
Re: WOT 2-3 shift is not after HPP+ install...??
just uninstalled the program..kinda nervous..tested it out a little bit and it seamed to shift ok..didndt do a 40 roll yet...but I know the HPP+ asks if you have a manual or auto..and if its got a shift kit blah blah blah..and it was for a 93-95 LT-1...and it was made in 97. or so the copywrite says on the scanner when it starts..

Did you read my reply to your other post? Did you try my second suggestion?

Re: WOT 2-3 shift is not after HPP+ install...??
hmmm yea I read it but didnt understand what u were saying about that..when I sat in the car I figured out what you meant...I have stock 16" 2002 10 spoke rims...what is the size of these rims?? is it 26"..cus I had to answer that since I do have bigger gears in my car, and the programer asked for tire height when I put in the new gear ratio...and dont know the tire size so I put 26"..could that been the problem??
Re: WOT 2-3 shift is not after HPP+ install...??
Stock diameter is close to 25.75, but it varies slightly by tire brand. I used 26.25 to fix my problem. You might try 26.5 if that doesn't work. Actually after doing this, you should confirm whether your speedo is accurate by having a friend drive another vehicle (with stock gearing / tires) at 60MPH (or whatever you agree upon) on the highway and match speeds... most factory cars are off my no more than 1MPH at highway speed.
I'd also recommend slightly raising the rev limit if you didn't already (no more than 6200)... since the RPM is climbing faster with the gears, it could hit the limiter during the shift easier... the shift RPM and MPH have a slight delay factor built in. But leave the shift points stock for now. Get the speedo accurate first (if that's indeed the problem, as it was for me).
