What are you running for IAC counts at idle?

Just wondering what people are getting the best idle at on a stock engine with bolt on's. I'm trying to cure a slight ruff idle. I've checked everything else, including vacuum and it's OK. I've heard the higher the count the smoother it should be. I've tried 18 to 30 and it didn't matter.

Either of the values you indicated should work just fine.
Is the IAC clean?
Is your problem an ignition miss?
Is the MAF sensor clean?
Fuel filter OK?

Just figured start with the basics and we'll go from there.

Dan,
I've tried everything.
Check vacuum OK
cleaned IAC and check voltage OK
New wires, new coil, new plugs OK
New Map and TPS
New filter
MAF cleaned
New PVC
EGR and AIR delete, no cat
The ruff idle was there before and after all this stuff.
Idle's great in open loop, even in hot open loop start up for that first 3 minutes and in speed density mode, MAF by passed and also with AC on. I'm a little confused why it's smooth with AC on, but turn it off and it becomes ruff. This lead me to believe to raise my IAC counts, just like when the AC is on. Didn't work.
Logic says it's my ported MAF, since it's fine in Speed Density. I just thought raising my IAC to 40 or something would help. I've read this somewhere. I also thought the PCM would overide this since it needs to adjust for correct idle RPM. I will probably just raise my idle in gear to 600, unless you have any suggestions.
Thanks

my IAC is programmed to hit 7 when warmed up but to meet my idle settings the pcm keep the IAC at about 50.

I was having a rough idle when I put in my cam a few year ago and increase it by 150 rpm - it was still rough as I forgot to add some more timing and since I've done that it runs fine.

That reminds me that I also raised the closed TPS timing from 20 to 25 and it had no effect as well.

If you want to send me your tunercat file I'll take a look at it. It's completely possible that something isn't right and you may have overlooked it...I've done that a couple of times.
Also, if you're going to e-mail me the file...give me a complete list of mods to the car too so I can check it out.

Thanks

That sounds low to me but I have an M6. What is the stock idle speed in gear supposed to be?

Stock-wise, the idle RPM for M6s is 900.

But I have an auto, so stock setting is 550.

Yeah, I was replying to quicksilver97ta thinking he was asking about his M6. Sorry.

That seems like a big difference, 350 rpm at idle. No wonder A4 cars have charging problems w/ UD pulleys. I've read the Ls1 cars can/do idle lower and smoother due to the different firing order but I didn't think the LT1's did. I think I might reflash and set mine to 600~ just to check it out.

quicksilver97ta - fix that hp number in your sig! I about freaked when I saw that and checked out the specs on your car. Then I checked out the dyno sheet.
Still impressive numbers though.
