Hey Guys. I need help. I have a new cable that I recently got for my 95 head/cam car lt1. It has the obd2 style connector. I have an email tune that I am wanting to load. First of, I have a fairly new laptop. I had trouble getting the serial port to work, so I just went to bestbuy and bought a serial port to usb adapter. When I hook up to the cars com, with tuner cat, I get the message communication error, invalid response from the computer. I tried freescan, and the only thing the little box to the left says is finding startup header. What is going on here. I really need to get this issue sorted out. The car runs and works fine, and my hypertech pp work just fine

 

USB to serial is a bad chancy thing. As me i know. Bought 4 different ones for my toshiba LT none ever worked. Bought a PCMCIA serial adadapter and it works perfect. I would suggest if you have a serial port built in get it to work. One thing i have noticed is that i have to boot my lap top, get it to the windows desktop before i plug in my programming cable other wise windows thinks my cable is a serial mouse in device manager!

 

i have a belkin usb to serial that i loaded over 70 tunes with and never lost pcm. i need to sell it, i dont need it anymore. i will sell it for 60 shipped. i have the install cds as well.
