What to do next?

I have a 396 stroker with a long, long list of mods. I am in the midst of putting it all back together after a LONG time off the street. My final consideration is the cam - which I am seeking advice on now.

I currently have an OBD I unit (it's a 96 car) with Fastchips tuning just as a basis to start from. I do not know where to go next. I know that I will need a dyno tune to maximize any potential, but is it necessary to change to some other tuning program to do that or will a knowledgable dyno shop (which is another problem - how do I find the best one in my area) have the ability to make those alterations to the tuning?

I am not opposed to the possibility of running some other tuning program, but I am not knowledgable enough to do it myself. I have a laptop and could of course load/download information but I do not want to risk changing any parameters myself that could cause harm to any system.

What is the best way to go from here?
