Unusual Lean Condition at Idle
Unusual Lean Condition at Idle
Hey all,
Here is the condition:
car warms up and BLM's are just a few point off of 128 on both sides. Everything is fine.
I now take it for a drive with plenty of part throttle driving with BLM's doing OK. Nothing way off.
I stop the car and let it idle. The BLM's now at idle are 152 and are perfectly balanced.
After 1 minute at idle, the car will adjust and start brining down the BLM's to eventually being a few points off of 128.
The one thing I changed is to a very short intake from my long tube intake so the MAF is now right next to the TB instead of being 2 feet away like it originally was.
What you all think?
Thank you,
Ben

the only thing that would change how your maf reads, is if you had a leak after it, no change really in its reading, only in that you pcm will only supply fuel for the air that the maf reads, not extra getting in after.
Generally, our cars try to conserve fuel at idle, it will fluctuate down and the pcm will read other pids to tell if the lack of fuel is causing problems. at that point you wont have enough fuel for all the air that your intake is bringing in.
Take some carb/choke cleaner and spray it on vacuum lines, and on you intake connections, and around the maf housing. when you spray an area, if the idle stabilizes or rises, then you have found your problem.
