Tuning OBD2 cars with emission testing.
I've heard even if you get the egr, air, and other things deleted off the ECU it would still not pass emission testing. I've thought if you delete the code there is nothing for the testing station to scan and it would just pass.
I live in MD where OBD2 cars don't do the smog testing, they just hook there computer up to the OBD2 outlet and scan the car. When my 2000 V6 had a trouble code that was "hidden" (if driven for 50 miles or so the SES light turns off) it still passed emissions. I'm about 90% sure the code was for a O2 sensor.
So thats my issue. If you delete the code from the ECU would it still fail emissoin testing?
