Tuning Help - Look at my Dyno Sheet

Well, this is what my car put down, it is a supercharged LT1 btw, putting down what is supposed to be 6psi from the powerdyne, but ive never seen the boost gauge go above 4. Anyhow, it leans out up top and I need to richen it up. Where do you guys think I could add or remove fuel and how much more power do you think it could make? How far off is it anyhow? It has a PCMforless tune by Bryan, but it was a from a couple years back, pre-supercharger I believe.

Are you using a Crane ignition box? Reason I ask is I had that same annoying dip in the power curve around ~4,600 or so. Took the Crane box off and the dip went away ...something about the transition from multispark to single spark throwing things off. MSD6BTM is on there now and no problems (don't really need the BTM now though).

Take some fuel out of the PE vs RPM table from ~2,500 - 5,300

Add some fuel to the PE vs RPM table from ~5,300 and up.

You should see small torque gains at the low - mid revs and a reduction in knock retard (if you have any) from 5,500 and up. IMO shoot for a 12.2:1 AFR just to be safe (12.7 is probably still safe but once you get out on the street w/moving air and less load you'll run a little leaner, so I say ~12.2 just to be safe).

What's your timing set up at? Do you have a boost retard? If so turn it off if you're using tuning software anyway. Basically you want to remove 1 degree of timing from the stock table in the 80-100 KPA range per lb of boost made at each RPM. Say 2,500 rpm you'd probably remove 1 degree, 3,500 2 degrees, 4,500 3-4 degrees, 5,500 5-6 degrees, 5,600+ 6-7 degrees, even more above that just to be safe ....you get the idea ...

actually im running the MSD-6AL. im not sure what caused that dip on the 2nd run, but its not on the other two runs. You can see on the A/F table that at 4600 it shows it lean out completely.

try to disable your knock retard and try again. Make sure you are rich enough beforehand though.

I moved my KR enable temp to 304 degrees and my car runs smooth as a baby's face.

My headers, rockers, et al were probably all contributing. Just a suggestion.

well i dont have any tuning software yet, i was just interested in hearing from bryan and the other tuners if they thought any more power could be picked up, id more than likely get the tunercat software and try to get one of the bigdogs to adjust my current tune enough to get me close, then i could try to finetune it after that.

Looks like the motor is running a tad rich but then the graph appears to show some detonation. Hard to say really but definitely pull out fuel below 5500 rpm.

Looks like you could be out of injector with that hard linear slope up

DO NOT RUN A SUPERCHARGER ON AN ALL MOTOR TUNE!!!!

NA cars are setup with way more timing than a blower needs. Call Bryan ASAP and get a blower tune in it before you hurt something.

i shouldnt be out of injector as ive got the 30# redtops as well as a boost referencing aeromotive fpr, i ran it up towards redline tonight and my fuel pressure was 48-49 lbs on the gauge, so im thinking it is in my tune

I'd stay with a conservative 11.0-11.5 on the dyno which will yield an A/F about 1 point higher on the street. If you have 12.5 on the dyno, then you wil e seeing over 13 on the street which is too lean IMO.

Good advice. Perhaps I wasn't emphasizing that factor enough. You really probably shouldn't run it anymore until you know what the timing is and have something to monitor knock retard. That N/A tune likely doesn't have enough fuel up top either which is very bad. If you see retard, back off until you figure out the cause, don't just raise the enable temp to bandaide the problem unless you know for sure it's false and can still pick up real knock at the temp you're raising it to. In any case, if you're warm enough to make a dyno pull (should be in closed loop at full operating temp) you shouldn't have knock retard disabled at those temps.

In any case, either get it tuned by PCM4Less or other for the blower or start logging data and tuning it yourself before doing another pull. I would not do anymore pulls with that tune. Get some fuel in there and take some timing out first.
