Tuning for 4l60e-to-700r4 conversion?

I'm hoping i can use a manual switch for locking the converter clutch and program the PCM as though the car has a manual tranny. Is this the best approach and can i do this with OBD1 LT1 Edit or will i need a PCM from a manual car {my car is a 96 but has an OBD1 PCM conversion from madz28.com.}?
Also, i was hoping to use the VSS from the 4l60e but seems like i remember seeing a thread somewhere that said the VSS pulse rate is different for an M6. Do i even need to run an M6 program? If so, can i compensate for this by editing the gear ratio / tire size in the program?
Thanks for any info about this swap.
