When using either how do I control what ports to use? Today they all said invalid when I tried to install a tune. Once I got home and tried it again it worked. What does it mean when it says invalid port for every port or theyre all shaded and cant be selected?

 

You have to plug the cord into the laptop plug you specified during startup. If you don't the computer won't recognize the input, which might be what happened. I am not sure if I understand you right, but if this is the problem then only use the port that worked when installing the tune, the other ports would be the invalid ones.
