Tryin to stay cool, can anyone help?

I have a 93 T/A that has been having fan problems since before it overheated last year. The fans are doing the same thing again and its gotten to the point where I stopped driving the car as of yesterday. the temp reached 250* about 4 times yesterday, each after a 1 hour break, 20 minute break, and another 20 minute break. I shut it down within 5-10 minutes of it reaching that temperature everytime but I may have already blown a head gasket again, though I doubt it.

Anyway, the temp only increases @ idle, so I'm thinking its a problem with the fans and/or radiator.

What I need from someone on here is a chip that turns my fans on @ 190 and 215 rather than 226 and 23X degrees.

I'm in the process of locating and checking the fuses/relays for the fans to see what the deal is, in the meantime I really need some help on this. It sucks going from a T/A to a Mercury Topaz because of the fans won't function properly.

How much coolant are you running? If the fans are indeed coming on, they should be able to bring the temp down more than what they are, however in stock form they do definately push the limits a little bit but that is how they can garauntee most of these cars continuing to pass smog and run clean, as well as some fuel efficiency.

Good luck finding a chip burn-friend.
