Transmission tuning question

I have the 4L60E, TunerCat software, Datamaster loggiong software, and a question about why my trans doesn't shift when I tell it to WOT
FYI....

kickdown mode mph shift values
1>2 1
2>3 50
3>4 150

normal/perf mode shift mph values
93.8Kpa 1 50 150
100Kps 1 50 150

kickdown shift rpm
1>2 5300
2>3 5500
3>4 5500

Datamaster logs show the 1>2 shifts at 5950 and the 2>3 shifts at 5875.
What am I missing here?
Stock motor, with just LT headers, 3200 Vigilante, and 4.10 gears. Yes, I did do the gear change in the PCM.

What you're missing is you're controlling a hydraulic system with a computer. The computer can tell it to react instantly but it still takes as long as it takes for the transmission to react and actually do the shift.

With the stall you will want to move the mph settings down a bit and command the shifts purely with engine rpm. The reason is with the stall engine rpm is not tied to vehicle speed as much anymore. Getting the shifts to occur exactly where you want them is a cut and check type process. The reason is because the time it takes to actually do the shift is different due to trans conditions parts in it and mods, it also has to do with engine power and gear 1st gear will gain rpm quicker than second etc and a h/c car will gain rpm in first much quicker than your car and so on.

I thought that's what I did when I set the 1>2 shift to 1mph. and the 2>3 mph to 50. Thanks for your input, I have heard before that there is a timing lag between the commanded and actual gear change. I did'nt think it would be that big of a delay. The trans is stock and has about 61K on it, shifts fine otherwise.

if I could see your tune I could probably help you. Can you post it or something like that?

Back when I first went to 3.54 gears (A4) I saw a similar huge amount of time required for the shifts (600-800 rpm or so) with an otherwise stock car. Over the years as I have fiddled with various parameters, I have eliminated this, and it now shifts quickly (<200 rpm). Unfortunately, I don't really know which things fixed it, or if it really takes the combination of them all...

Off the top of my head here are some of the possibly-relevant changes:
- upgraded from early 94 ($EEb) to 95 bin
- small values in "shift time" tables
- disabled WOT shifting tables
- increased WOT line pressure

I had the increased line pressure from day 1, so I'm sure that doesn't fix it by itself.

Someday if I have time I'll try to step back through them one by one.

After 6 years of fiddling I've got the thing shifting almost as well as your average econobox import ECT...

See post 1 unless you need some other tables.

those are the only tables I changed. ( 1ST POST) The rest of the trans tables are stock.
