Transfer frequency from one keyless remote to the other?

Not sure if this belongs here, but seems appropriate given it does involve the PCM.

I have a remote from a 1999 Chevy Silverado and I'm trying to get it to learn the frequency of my current remote for my Tahoe which functions properly but has a cracked case.

Does any one know this process? For what it's worth it's for a 1998 Chevy Tahoe. The Owner's Manual does not describe the process.

I don't think you can transfer the frequency from one remote to another, you have to put the truck into learn mode and let the truck learn the new remote.

I can't tell you how to do that though. Sorry.

Thanks for the reply, and you're right... we did put the truck into learn mode, but we found out that the newer remote was not compatible with my Tahoe.
