Question is this too much timing?

is this too much timing, 44 degrees @12% throttle@1700 rpm , sometimes 45 degrees with cruise on@75 mph , hot cam 1.6RR, 355ci,ported heads,intake ,11.4 comp ratio, 52mm,headers, borla,orp,msd ,stock MAF,cai,M6,LT4 km, getting some retard,was wanting some opinions

My timing is similar and I have only seen knock when shifting around 3000 rpm. Usually this is from 1st to 2nd accelerating from a stop but I have seen it when downshifting from 4 to 3 at around 75 mph as rpm climbs to 3000. In neither case was I 'ON' the throttle. Usually 30-50% tps.
