Third Gen Computer Tuning

I have a couple of questions i was hoping someone might have a some answers for.

Is there any difference between a chip for an automatic and a chip for a standard shift car? Can one be modified to work with the other transmission?

Anyone know what the stock injector pulse width should be on a 1989 350 car?

What's the difference between a .ecu file and a .bin file?

Thanks

There is no set PW. The PW is calculated by the ECM and could be just about anything, dependent on several input parameters.

I think that the .ecu file is the actual computer code in the ECM. I know that the .bin file is the file you edit when using TunerCat to tune your 3rd gen OBDI car.

The bin file is the binary file (1'ss and 0's) that the ECM actually uses. An ECU file is a protocal or template file that is used for Tunercat, Tunerpro, and a host of others to make it easy for end users like us to edit binary files. Each different ECM (like $EE lt1, $8D TPI, etc) Mask will need a different ECU file

Yes and yes. There are no code variances, just parameter differences from what I've been able to discern. The changes are numerous.
