Thing I Need To Change In PCM Before First Startup On New 383?

I bought a 95 Camaro Z28 on a Friday Night at about 10pm. had the motor out on saturday. I am building a 383 Le2 motor right now and I also have a tuning cable for my car and tunerCAT. So, what do I need to change before startup?

To keep things semi simple on first startup, I plan on using my oringinal injectors, and original throttle body.

I do have a 58MM TB and lucas 42# injectors. I will install them after I put a few easy breakin miles on the motor. I will tune for those 2 things later.

But here is what will be in my motor on first startup:

180* T-Stat
CC Hardened Pushrods
Mid-Tube PaceSetters
Flowmaster 80 Series Catback Exhaust
SLP CA Induction
MSD Optispark
MSD Coil
Gutted Cat
CC 1.6 RR 7/16" NSA
Eagle Cast Crank 3.75" stroke
Eagle I Beam 5.7" Rods W/ARP CapScrews
SpeedPro Hyper Pistons .030" Over -12CC Dish
11.6 SCR / 9.0 DCR
LE2 Heads
LE Ported Intake Manifold
LE2 383 Billet Cam
Ebay Stage III Clutch
EGR Delete (May Need Tuning Here?)
Aluminum Intake Elbow
AEM Wideband
All New Bearings
Brass Freeze Plugs
LS7 Lifters
TB Coolant Bypass
Secondary Air Delete

So. since I will use stock injectors and stock TB for startup it reall limits the amout of stuff I need to do to the pcm for startup. but I do need to do somehting about the EGR delete right?

Cylinder Volume
Min Coolant Temp to Enable EGR
Min Coolant Temp to Enable Air Pump
Fan Temps if you desire it too run cooler.

All the other tables I would leave stock...

Set fans to come on at 200, 180 thermostat isnt going to full open until 195. I would swap to a 160 thermostat and set the fans to come on at 185 with the compression you're running.

Bump closed tps timing to 27* for 400 800 1200rpm in that table. Crack your tb blades open a little before you bolt it on, you're likely going to need more air than the iac can supply in the stock position but we'll see.

Set your desired idle rpm up 850-900 would be a good start warmed up, maybe more depending on how it goes responds

Lean out your open loop target a/f ratio tables in the 50-70 kpa area at temps over 70 or so. Factory has these set in the 10.5ish range which is stupid and way too rich for a cammed car. Then enable the graph and smooth it out where you made changes. You should end up with 14.5 or so at areas over 100*F. Table might be in C* dont know havent looked at it in a bit.

Zero idle over/under speed timing advance/retard tables about 50 rpm each way of 0, so timing is steady at idle.

You also want to turn off any ses flags for stuff you have removed like air and egr. If you arent running egr zero the table out for added timing while egr is active, or make it impossible for it to become active, whatever floats your boat.

Buy the file, and when the 30 days is up buy the software. Its worth every penny with a modded car.

oh cool. I can buy the file without the software, so I can give it a shot (tuning it in the first 30 days)..

so how so I go about buying this file. I believe I need to get a free scan or something to send to them.

You don't need to do anything but go to Tunercat's website and buy what you need.

You will need to adjust your idle air screw. My IAC voltage ended up around 0.84 to get my IAC to match my target.

While you have the factory tb still off take the idle speed screw out and screw it in from the other side with a little anti sieze on it. Makes life alot easier if it needs adjustment.

I tend to run my iac counts pretty high though up around 80 or 100 in gear 110 or 120 with a/c on max. I find it helps with idle blm's vs the factory setup running 30 steps or so.

Tps should not exceed about .70-.71 it confuses the computer a little bit, the good news is its easy as can be to slot the sensor and readjust it.

ok.. We are all set. I got the program and the $EE file all set to go.

Now. I want to get a jump making this file for my car, but as of rite now there is no wiring harness or engine or PCM in my car, so I want to get ahold of a stock 95 Z28 M6 flash so I can start changing these things.

I have one, but I dont know if its actually true.. and its from a 95 trans am M6.. would that be the same?

Thanks
