Is there a way to tune out the front O2's?

I was wondering if I could disconnect my 2 front O2 sensors and have someone reprogram my PCM to run without them? The reason I ask is because I seem to go through O2 sensors quick. I know if you just unplug them it will run off of stored parameters but they make the car run rich and give it sh*tty gas mileage. Could someone rewrite those parameters so that it would run lean and still get pretty good gas mileage and performance?

thanks

I think what you're asking for is an open loop program as it does not utilize O2 sensor feedback.

Well, you would have to trick the computer in to thinking it sees the o2's, otherwise it would stay in open loop and ignore all the programmed parameters.
I wouldn't really recommend doing this. you'd be cutting out a very important sensor. If you are willing to do that much. why not just go carburated.

if you dont want to use the o2s just unplugg them it will be the same thing. it will not run off stored parameters it will run with no correctiion factors so if you have a machanical problem that would some how get fresh air in. it would run lean. and possibly damage the engine.

you cannot reprongram the o2s or what they read. they are only good for 14.7to 1. they have no parameters they read 14.7 or they dont and if they dont you buy new ones.

ihave you had it scanned to see the blms if they are pegged out rich oor have you checked for exaust leaks.

i would not unplugg them and run with it. if you blms are below 128 that means that if the pcm wasnt making the correction (pulling fuel out) to hit 14.7 it would run rich, so techniclly if you do have blms that are below 128, if you unplugg then you will run alot richer.

find someone with datamaster close to you and get them to scan it.

what all have you done to try and locate the problem causing the o2 failure.
