So what can I expect from a dyno tune?

I'm participating in a dyno tune day at the end of the month with
Jeff Creech of Carolina Auto Masters. I currently have a mail order
tune for my baby cammed, bolt on, no headers, M6 convertible. I
was wondering what to expect since I have never seen dyno tuning
done before. I have had my car on the dyno twice prior the the cam
change. My sig has all that info.

What can I expect in terms of driveability and performance from the
dyno tune? What information should I provide prior? What all should I
bring along in the way of hardware (extra PCM, etc.)? What all should
I take care of ahead of time? I have no SES lights, everything is stock
in terms of emmissions, and the car runs great (sotp).

I am assuming your previous mail order tunes aren't out to lunch. I wouldn't expect them to be with your mild setup. I'll be surprised if Jeff can tweek more than 5 or so RWHP out. Thats almost noise in my book. Remember, every dyno is a bit different, so Jeff will probably do a baseline pull first, then compare to that. You shouldn't have to take much at all. Maybe a 3.5" floppy and a sandwich. Please report your results.

Have fun

Steve

Thanks for the info. The current tune is fine. Sounds like it will be
pretty easy. Hopefully it won't be another 4" of rain day like today.
Very early and heavy storms for CA.

Blown tranny, rearend. my buddy has done both over the summer. Go to the drag strip. I don't know i'm not a dyno guy myself. Bad things man, my buddies keep talking me into it, but when they go they break stuff.
His '94 LT1 dynoed @ 265 RWHP before the tranny (fell off the roof) LOL.
With a 6psi procharger it cranked out 335 hp at the wheels before, yep the rear end went. So he hasn't succeded to louring my f-car to the dyno yet. I tell him i will know it's faster if i take it to the drag strip and run it.
Good luck to yah!
