SLP takeoff injectors

If I were to swap in a set of these for my current injectors (24# from a 96 LT1) how bad would it throw off my tune? They are supposed to rated at 25# @3bar.

Re: SLP takeoff injectors

First off what does 3bar equal in PSI? Our injectors are rated at 24lb at 43PSI. If 3bar is not 43psi, those could be rated slightly higher or lower.

Secound, why 25lb? they are barely bigger than whats in your motor now. Hardly seems worth the effort. Until you throw a heads and cam at it your stock injectors will be fine.

Re: SLP takeoff injectors

I'm not sure what PSI 3 bar equals either. And the reason is those injectors have about 125,000 miles on them about 40,000 of which were on a supercharged engine using an FMU. 75-90 psi couldn't be good for those things.

Re: SLP takeoff injectors

1 bar = 14.5 PSI

3 bar = 43.5 PSI which is LT1 pressure.

I'm assuming their "take-off" injectors are LS1 injectors.
LS1 injectors were rated as follows:

97,98,01,02,03,04 ~28.8 lb/hr at 4 bar (58 PSI). At LT1's pressure of 43.5 PSI, they will flow approximately 24.94 lb/hr which is pretty much the same rating as stock 94-97 injectors. These injectors will work without retuning. Some people complained that they're somewhat shorter (although I personally measured both and they're identical in length) and may cause leaks on an LT1. The difference is actually in their construction and placement of the bottom o-ring (LS1 is slightly higher) which may cause that problem. I've had them on my car before and they seemed to be fine though.

99-00 injectors are ~26.4 lb/hr at 4 bar and they will flow ~22.86 lb/hr at LT1 pressure. These would be good for a 93 stock injector replacement, but they flow less than 94-97 injectors. The computer will most likely compensate for them without retuning but they're still a downgrade unless you just need them for a temporary replacement.

Re: SLP takeoff injectors

Yeah, I put them on this morning. They seem to be working great. The clips to hold them in place won't work and they dont go as far down into the intake manifold as the old ones, but my car runs better than it did, so I'm happy.
