As above, just how exactly does one go about the process of softening up the shifts?

Low speed and part throttle ...

thx for any input

It depends on what you have done for shift kit, and any PCM programming that has been done. Sift firmness is based on TPS% versus vehicle speed, and if you have any numbers in the low % areas that you can subtract from, then that would work, but however, if the shift kit is too hard, and you have no positive numbers to subtract from, then you have to mechanically lower the line pressure, which brings us back to the question of what shift kit do you have, if any, and what method did they use to raise line pressure? Many tunr in the PCS solenoid screw to raise the bias pressure, but it never really work well to try and turn the crew back out, in which case, if turning in the screw was done, replacement of the PCS solenoid would be needed. Hope this helps!

So to make a shift softer, would I be reducing the given value or values in the offset table? ie going from a value of -6 at 18% tps to something like -9?? Will that small change make a noticeable difference?

Or, do you go the other way and increase the size of the value in the table?

The shift kit in it is a mild SK shift kit. Makes the car feel about like it was with the HPP+ shift firmness option checked.

thx for the help

Fom -6 to -9, yes, start there. remember to smooth and transition the area where you make your changes.
